Writing a resume: product manager

The Product Manager is a strategic thinker, an expert in creating and managing a product portfolio, responsible for developing product strategy and its implementation in the market in close collaboration with other team members and the Company as a whole.

The product manager is focused on managing the product line in order to strengthen the Company's brands, differentiate it, stimulate innovation and strengthen the Company's position in the market.

Product manager resume is different from a resume for other positions. A vendor is first and foremost a manager with a balance of technical and communication skills. Let's take a closer look at what skills a product manager should have and what should be on your resume when applying for the position.

From product to product

Product development has a standard product lifecycle: defining and planning product opportunities, product design, creating the product, launching it in the market, and evaluating the success of the product.

A good manager must be competent in each stage of product creation, so he or she must possess a wide range of technical skills. The list of skills looks daunting, but remember that a salesperson does not have to be an expert in every area at all, but must have a good understanding of it.

Recall that the structure of any resume consists of 5 parts:

  • Personal Information
  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Achievements
  • Extra skills
